|Flush Ink Productions - UnHinged – Festival of Disturbing Theatre.
This is how it works. There are five main-stage plays. The theatre is a small black-box theatre, that seats about sixty.
The Festival runs like this.
Thursday November 21 8pm – Three plays.
Friday November 22 8pm– Three plays.
Friday November 22 Midnight – Write or Flight. Seven playwrights will be sent away from the warmth of the Rum Runner Pub, where we have gathered after some disturbing theatre, to disturbing places. They have 24 hours to write and hone a ten-minute play. There will be volunteers who will deliver coffee, food, blankets, etc.
Saturday November 23 8pm– Three plays.
Saturday November 23 Midnight – The playwrights will return – hopefully, script in hands. We will read the scripts, assign directors and cast them before the pub closes. We have six days to get these plays on their feet.
Thursday November 28 8pm – Three plays.
Friday November 29 8pm – Three plays.
Saturday November 30 8pm – Write or Flight Response. All seven plays will be staged in one night, with a talk-back to follow.
This is an open invitation to playwrights to participate in Write or Flight. We can offer three playwrights a $100 stipend to offset travel expenses. If you are interested in coming, please let us know. On Oct. 30, we’ll choose the three playwrights willing to come from the farthest distances to receive the stipends.
Flush Ink Productions is located in Kitchener, On., an hour west of Toronto.
