I considered being cute and pretentious and writing this introduction using stage directions but I already used that trick once to win me an election for my school's theatre club.
Me: My name is Will. I'm a seventeen year-old "professional" author.*
*In that, I mean I am represented by an agent and law firm in New York City and have legal retrainers, a first right of refusal, etc. AKA: Scary stuff.
Anyway, I've been doing competetive theatre since my freshman year (I'm an upcoming senior) and am delighted by the professional transition. So far I've written five one-act plays and two (and a half) full-length productions and three novels. I've outlined several more shows and novels, enough to keep me busy well into my 20s.
I mostly credit my parents for my ability more than my teachers, who have always told me the speed of my writing will one day hinder me, alas.
I'm planning on attending USF in Tampa for the fall term of 2010 and majoring in (SPACE INTENTIONALLY LEFT BLANK). I'm choosing between theatre, creative writing, history, international relations, and photography. By the time I graduate in spring 2009, I will have already earned my AA degree, so that makes the whole process incredibly daunting.
I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone!
