I'm Robert and this is my introduction. I am an amateur actor and director. I have tried just about every type of on-stage experience and I have experienced every one that I have tried. Sadly, I have a strong case of theater ADD. My mind bonces from idea to idea without pausing long enough to complete...
What was I saying? Right, thank you. Ummm..
My newest interest is the Modern Audio Drama. For example, the type of work that can be heard on podcasts like, "Welcome to Nite Vale" or my newest favorite "Greater Boston"
I have directed several staged versions of classic Radio Dramas. "War of the Worlds" and "It's a Wonderful Life" are favorites. I have also had the opportunity to voice several characters; most recently Ebeneezer Scrooge.
While the classic radio dramas are great fun, I feel they are lacking something in that the stories are too familiar and the endings predetermined.
My goal for the next year is to write (or collaborate on) and produce a Modern Radio Drama for the Stage; a work which is to be a hybrid of Radio Drama and Stage-play. I want to bring to life a play that is as entertaining to view live as it is to listen to on your headphones.
Anyone who might be interested in helping with this type of work would be welcome to share thoughts and ideas. Let me know before my mind...
