Rose and John are office cleaners and are dusting the desks in their respective areas.

Rose: Are you about finished?

John: You’ll know when I’m finished girl.

Rose: How will I know?

John: You’ll feel it… inside.

Rose: Oh.

John: But I won’t finish before you.

Rose: Is that a promise?

John: I’ve never been known to finish first.

Rose: How does that work. You usually do it on your own.

John: What makes you think that?

Rose: You mean you’re two timing me?

John: Oh, I’d never do that.

Rose: So, you do it on your own.

John: Ok. I admit it. But only so that I don’t get out of practice.

Rose: To keep your end up, so to speak.

John: That’s it.

Rose: And do you think of me.

John: Sometimes. How about you? Do you ever do it on your own.

Rose: It has been known.

John: And do you think about me?

Rose: Sometimes.

John: When?

Rose: Oh, you know, when I have to… go over, um, your bits.

John: Oh yes.

Rose: So, when do you think about me?

John: The same I suppose.

Rose: When you are brushing my rug?

John: Yes

Rose: Smoothing out the bumps

John: Oh yes.

Rose: Poking into the cracks

John Oh yes. Oh yes!

Rose: What else.

John: When I’m polishing my pole.

Rose: What?

John: When I’m polishing my pole, polishing my pole.

Rose: What pole?

John: Haa. I’m finished.

Rose: You bastard.

You started boring, and then got into all those words, and poles, and bumps.  I think, Muncy, this could have actually been more powerful, with less.

More subtlety.
