THIRTY SECONDS IN HISTORY
AUGUST 16, 1977
A BATHROOM IN GRACELAND
ELVIS STANDS AT THE MIRROR WITH HIS FINGERS IN HIS MOUTH TOUCHING A REAR MOLAR AND THEN WINCING IN PAIN.
Sonny! Sonny, Red! Where the heck are you Sonny? Damn hillbillies never around when you need them. This tooth is killing me. Where’s the dang aspirin?
There is a knock on the door
Sonny that had better be you.
He opens the door
A man in a suit stands on the other side holding a clipboard checking as he speaks
Mr. Presley? Mr. Aaron Presley?
Who the hell are you? How did you get in here? Where Sonny? Where’s Red?
I’ve been sent to help Mr. Presley.
Help? I don’t need no help? Not unless you got something for this tooth to stop hurting.
As a matter of fact.
He holds out a handful of pills
These’ll stop the hurting?
Elvis takes the pills and swallows them
Elvis falls to the floor
(looking thru papers)
