I'm seeking someone who has written lyrics and who has a website or some other vehicle for showing me your work.

I am planning a new vocal album and/or a staged musical using singers and electronic instruments.

Musical knowledge/experience a plus, but I am primarily looking for a lyricist/librettist/poet, I'll handle the music ends of things.

If this is appealing to you, please send me a link to your work and I will do same.

I'd like to find someone to collaborate with in the San Francisco Bay Area.

I am interested in new collaborations and exploring new subject matter. I have been working with composers in Sydney writing song Cycles libretto spoken word. Enjoy working in interesting locations. My webpage:alisonmarshalllyricistpoet.wordpress.com At the moment I have not loaded any recording to site but can forward sound files. Enjoy Alison

Hi Alison,

Thanks for getting in touch.  I do like your lyrics and think they are of high quality, but am hoping to collaborate with someone locally (San Francisco, California).

Perhaps a long-distance collaboration might work.  I do teach classical music theory online and that is working out very well, so who knows?

May I contact you again toward the end of the year when I am actually ready to begin a new project?  I'm currently finishing up the last movement of a symphony for a new album, after that I want to write more short vocal works.

Sincerely,
Jerry Gerber

Hi Jerry
Thankyou for your encouraging response. I have enjoyed listening to some of your recordings and appreciate your innovative and imaginative use midi technology,I also noted that we share similar interests in selected subject matter.

I am experienced in various collaborative methods; Peter Urquhart and I produced two works for spoken word online, while he was in residency at the Composers Centre in Visby, Sweden. Requests for song text/ lyrics/libretto from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music are relatively non specific in terms of subject and are written without the score.I prefer to write with the score it is the pivotal factor, my inspiration, in the creation of lyrics.

I would appreciate the opportunity to submit lyrics/song text for your consideration possibly later in the year, as you suggested.

I have attempted to send various sound files which are reportedly too large. I will attempt to send separately. Please enjoy.

I look forward to future correspondence and creative opportunities.

Regards
Alison

Hi Alison,

Excellent!  Let's stay in touch via email.

My address is:  jerry@jerrygerber.com

What is yours?

You're in Australia, right?

I'll contact you around December and perhaps we can talk by phone (415-242-4003) about ideas and how we'd collaborate.

Sincerely,
Jerry

I am an experienced librettist and poet. I've had two full length musical theater collaborations produced professionally in NYC and Chicago. I just wrote a third show. My most recent book of poetry came out last year. I've worked as a professional writer and teacher of creative writing and theater for a long time.

johnnypayne.com is my site, look under "Creative Writing." It's out of date because I just took a job in Los Angeles, e.g., I don't live in Alaska anymore, but the poetry is there. I can send lyrics from the other shows if you want to see more.

Johnny
