The project is a period book musical freely adapted from a popular novel in the public domain. This story contains strong characterizations in a timely serio-comic plot and is designed as a showcase for multi-talented performers. Romance, villainy, stage combat and clowning round out this accessible, mainstream entertainment.

Candidates must be skilled in revealing character/extending narrative action through song and possess a love of language, knowledge of history, a passion for musical theatre, a contemporary sensibility and ability to collaborate.

I am an accomplished librettist and versatile composer who can write in a variety of styles (traditional, pop, classical) with an individual voice. My work has been successfully produced in major regional theatres across the U.S. for two decades.

I look forward to hearing from you. Thank you.

Hi,
I've written the book for one musical and one in process.  I'm an award-winning playwright in Chicago.  I'm interested in your project.  I'm new to stage plays forum.
Thank you.

I'm between musicals now, having created three. One has had full production, out of which videos a DVD was created, and it's undergoing a couple of changes at the behest of a new director. A second (an experimental/"immersive" work in one act -- 90 minutes rt)) has had staged readings. The third is in the process of being arranged.

Working as the lyricist on your piece sounds like it would be fun and interesting.

Looking for musical collaborators for two projects:

Project A has a composer and a lyricist looking for a bookwriter to write an original libretto based on a real story of a prostitute murdered in 1860's Virginia City during the Comstock mining boom.

Project B has a lyricist looking for a composer and a bookwriter to adapt a public domain movie based on The Taming of the Shrew.

Reply for details if interested.
