I have never worked in the theater in any capacity. What I have done is write songs most of my life, some of them professionally, and some of them cut by major recording artists. What I have not done is write a play. I have come up with what I think is a strong idea for a musical and I would like to hear from playwrights whose alley this is up and who are impressed enough with what's on my website to want to contact me. I have no detailed plot, no characters, etc., just a vague idea of the story. It's called I Think I'll Write A Musical. The website has older material, much of it in the country vein, but I can write in virtually any style. http://undiscoveredhits.com/
You sound interesting and like your work might fit with what I do. So I wanted to reach out to you...
I'm the inhouse playwright at a NY City theater with work regularly performed on stage. I'm looking for a composer/songwriter to work with.
I've written various musicals - or at least the book - and am looking for a collaborator to write the music and possibly lyrics.
I'm working on a musical about Amy Fisher right now. Would love to discuss if you might be interested. Have other projects as well.
I co-founded the Textile Co. Theater, a group that regularly presents my work. You can find out more about that @ http://www.textilecompanytheater.com/
My work is presented regularly at Theater for the New City in Manhattan. If and when a project is completed, I would expect to present there.
I have shows opening at TNC in March and another scheduled in June. Others would follow....
Hope to hear from you.
