Not many comments on plays lately, so excuse me posting something about two masterful dramas on film.
MARK RUFFALO produced and stars in drama DARK WATERS...which is about...well...tainted water. True Story. Brilliant. Riveting.
RICHARD JEWELL is produced and directed by Clint Eastwood. Also a True Story. Story about the the 1996 bombing at the Olympic Games in Atlanta. Stunning. Cuts right to the heart. And at the Justice system.
These two BIG SCREEN movies made my year as far as movies go. Just stunning works. DON'T WAIT FOR NETFLIX. These ar BIG screen movies.
Audiences sat in drained silence after each. Many had to talk about it in the lobby.
I really enjoyed The Two Popes, it's a film like a play if ever there was one. Then-cardinal Bergoglio meets with Pope Ratzinger to tender his resignation and their ideologies clash like night and day, but Ratzinger has a surprise of his own. Riveting, like only the best of theatre.
