My newest play is untitled right now, so I need some suggestions.

It's a one man play. This man suffers from insomnia and when he can't sleep he goes out on to his balcony. It just so happens that one night when he's out there, there is an audience watching him.

I want him to speak humorously for the first half of the show then he'll move onto something sinister and speak dramatically for the second half.

I'm fine with the development of the first half, I've got that all written.

But I really need help with the development of the second half.

I need suggestions for the second half and a title.

Thanks Guys,

Kevin Gagen Berry

Hi, Kevin,

Sounds like an interesting idea. For a title, maybe something like "The Midnight Rambler," "Moonlight Serenades," "No REMs for (character's name)," "When Sleep Fails," "Balcony Ballistics," etc. Maybe one of those will trigger something for you.

As for the second half, you say you want him to move into something sinister. How about recasting (and refining) a nightmare into a monologue? If you don't have any nightmares of your own,  you could check out http://www.dreammoods.com, a dream symbols and discussion site which has a forum on Nightmares and Night Terrors.

Hope this helps,
kris
