I FIGURED MY FIGHTING CITY HALL POST HAS BEEN UP LONG ENOUGH.

MY QUESTION:

I AM LOOKING FOR A PARTICULAR POEM.

I am talking to some Freshman in high school later this week.

There is a lovely poem about an adolescent trying to walk like a kid whom he admires because he is so popular. Then as the poem goes on, the sequence is he notices that the popular kid walks just like Jimmy, and then he notices Jimmy walks just like Bobby and it goes through all these sequences of discovery until the adolescent realizes they are all walking like him!

Anyone know it?

It has been YEARS since I heard it or read it.

THANKS,

The poem sounds familiar, but not sure. I'll dig around but I don't know a good resource to find poems.
