It's not often I meddle in monarchy but what in the hell is a girl like Kate thinking about marrying into a heredity plagued family like that?

Such a waste...

Woke up early, made some tea, opened some Jaffa cakes and shortbread, and watched the parade of hats, lace, and ribbons through sunrise.

An enjoyable morning.

I was sitting in the sunshine but I could hear it on the TV. I can't say I'm terribly interested but I wish them well. I understand that Will drove them away from the palace in a James Bond style Aston Martin which is pretty cool.

I found it to be a beautiful piece of theatre.

Put it this way, I rolled over in bed around 6 am and my wife was not there. I was groggy, and it took a bit before it occurred to me where she was.

I woke up an hour later and over coffee and the newspapers.I guess we were watching the replay. I poked my head up at it for awhile amidst her comments such as, "Her dress is beautiful. I 'm not big on the veil though."

I said, "You are an Irish dual national. Why are you watching this? Brits on the dole is all."

"I'm a woman. Face it."

Okay, can't argue with that.

Actually, I kind of liked the veil.

The best part was when the WWII bombers flew over Buckingham Palace. And then the jets. But I thought the princes' both would have saluted.

Then we watched a bit of the "recap" at night.

The Brits know how to do a parade.

But if you want an impromptu parade with feeling, watch this. Buddy of mine sent it to me. 3 minutes long. Hawaii, VJ Day April 14, 1945. Hand-held, home-made footage shot in 16 mm film.
