Greetings to the British playwrights on this forum. I'm seeking a Brit to review a short one act play for accuracy. Play takes place in England and is about 10 - 12 minutes in length. I will be happy to trade reviews for one-act play of similar length.
Not a Brit. Don't need review, or critique. If the play is written in English, why don't you post it on this site and expose it to more than several professionals and many brilliant writers whom the industry will hear from sooner than later?
Smaster - Sure, I'll exchange reviews. Sorry you didn't join a month ago, could really have used you input then. I'll exchange my 10 pager for your 19 pager, no worries. However, due to my current schedule, I likely won't be able to thoroughly review your play until May 5th. Is that OK?
And Ed, thanks for your info, just not sure of the protocol of posting plays here, and a touch leery of revealing work on an open public forum where anyone can just copy-paste, and there goes your work. I once offered a play to a theatre group and was happy they chose to perform it, but was unhappy, when, unannounced to me, they posted the entire play on their website for anyone to read and copy. The play then got copied on a blog, and an actor's Facebook page, and it took me a week to track down everyone involved and get them to remove my copyrighted material. Fortunately everyone was cool about it. I was submitting the play at the time to a theater that demand submissions not be published in print or online and I just barely made the deadline. Don't want to go through that again.
Moss, more to come when I'm not busy writing the unimaginable. Here we have the Dramatist's Guild that will go through all of that with you and give you appropriate guidance. You most have it's equivalent over there. No one could get away with it were you a member of the Guild. As for me, I post my mediocre stuff all over creation. I just want to be heard.
If there is any way whatsoever you could find the time to have a look sooner I'd really appreciate it, as it's a university dissertation (equivalent) that's due for the 2nd May. However if not no problem at all, I completely understand re. busy schedules! Thanks very much indeed, will look forward to reading yours.
