Tuesday, July 1st for the staged reading of my newest play, Noah's Arkansas.
A reception with drinks and snacks will follow. You can meet the new theatre company getting great attention for the quality work- Wide Eyed Productions.
A Q&A with the artists will be hosted by Darnelle Radford, Artistic Director of Represented Theatre Co. in Philadelphia.
The cast is the most amazing group I've ever assembled.
Malachy Orzoco, Kym Smith, Bennett Harrell, Ben Andrew Thomas, Judy Merrick, Brainne Mai, and Erik Frandsen
I need your ears. YOU will help make this play everything it can be.
Noah's Arkansas-- three generations of men fight to glue the pieces of their broken family back together, but with no clear blueprint of how the pieces are suposed to fit.Attachment: readingJuly1st.jpg (Downloaded 37 times) Last edited on Wed Jun 18th, 2008 07:02 pm by Jerrod

Great title. Be sure to have fun. Tell your actors to have fun too.

Yes. I'm betting on people alright. I'm in full-on "get your butts to my play" mode. Take no prisoners!!!
If you're in the NYC area. Get here. Mention the Playwrights Forum and get a drink for free.

Are you producing/directing this event yourself -- are you a member of the productio company -- or is this a program that the theater company offers?

I am a company member of Wide Eyed, and I put this reading together myself.
(Which may sound as if it has less merit, but anyone who knows me knows that my ego would never allow me to show a play that wasn't ready. I'm really proud of this piece.)
Ready to be seen, of course, does not mean finished- hence the talk-back. I'm counting on some good input from the audience.

J--
A playwright as a company member and as a self-producer has all kinds of merit in my book. That's the way to build your career and to be a valued contributor. Rock on.
