That's a fantastic and fantastical story.
Did you ever see the movie, "The Magdalene Sisters?" Pretty rough stuff. And I thought some of my nuns were bad!!!
Hope everything goes well with the play and with keeping Quanies undies clean!
Nice plug for the Forum, too!
best,

Thank you In Media Res. I believe I read an article from the LOOP (I think) and he was saying Playwrights now have to market their plays if they want them produced, instead of sitting back and waiting for the REJECTION letter to come back. I'm not 100% sure it was the LOOP but I did read it somewhere.
SO off I went and did what I had to do.
Now I will still have to push it. I'm waiting for critiquing to come back from various friends and see where I go from there. Some say it's too long, another says take this out and that out. I have Prologue and an Epilogue and my actor friend says take that out..
Right now I haven't taken anything out, it's sitting here waiting. I do intend sending it to the Yale Compo. which has the deadline by 15th August 2008. I did post it somewhere on the site some time ago so people could send in their play.
I'm trying to get used to.......baked beans and dried bread.........Lends a "Fiver" would ya Media res? (LOL)

Spiny
Course I do.
But he's feeding me Beans on dried toast and now I'm a starving Playwright. The Gin is watered down now to last longer and we can't afford the tonic.
Someone said try the Random Noodles. What are they?
LOL

Potabasil,
Why tarnish the gin with tonic, anyway?

All I can say is:
L in Effen Vodka Loud! (Though vodka is a very poor and shameful stepchild to gin!)
Used to be able to buy Cork Gin in Chicago. Now, I can't find it. It was a wonderful kind of juniper "peaty" gin of all things.
Gotta get Mayor Daley on the case.

Congratulations on your Marketing/PR coup! Money well spent. What a great idea for a play. Be sure to keep us all informed as to future productions.

Thank you for your kind words. Indeed I will let you all know if anything happens. Right now it's emails from people I know who knows somebody who knows somebody. We will wait and see.
The Auctioneer in the Uk is thinking about delivering the Nightgown to me in person.
Rather than letting it be shuffled about throught any courier service, UPS. FEDX et all.
The auctioneer actually does a BBC prog. something like Cash in the Attic. He's well known in the UK
Anyway I really appreciate your posting

It's a fabulous story. I'm loving following this. I hate it when people who do this kind of thing, especially when you know it could be a simple typo, but, you know...
Um..et al.

Imelda,
What a beautiful, uplifting card. I'll be dancing 'round the house having a bippity boppity boo day right after the happy bluebirds get the hell off my shoulders!
