Got a story about how STAR WARS changed your life?

The Ledyard High School Drama Club seeks recollections about the iconic film STAR WARS and its influence, effect, and continued relevance to modern culture. The stories will be the centerpiece of a performance event titled “Help Me Obi-Wan Kenobi” being created by the students at Ledyard High School with the club director and local playwright Kato McNickle.  “Help Me Obi-Wan Kenobi” will be presented at Ledyard High School May 6 & 7, 2010 and all proceeds from the performance will benefit the Matt Buriak Scholarship Fund in memory of the LHS junior who died this past fall.

Stories may be submitted in the form of a personal narrative essay, a poem, a song, or a monologue.  To submit your story visit the Facebook Group “STAR WARS STORIES” http://www.facebook.com/katoagogo#!/group.php?gid=344060594705&ref=mf or post one here. All stories must contain content and language appropriate for a public site and for a teen-age audience. By submitting a piece to you are granting permission for its use by the students of Ledyard High School for their show in May - all other rights remain with the author.

Please submit materials for consideration by March 31, 2010.

The narratives have been coming in ... thanks to anyone who has submitted one --

If you've got a Star Wars Story to tell -- you can send one through the end of March.

Less than two weeks away from the show weekend.  It's finally beginning to come together.  This weekend I'm making the final decisions about what's being included and what has to be cut because I need to have a running-order for tomorrow's rehearsal.

BTW - the lightsaber battle we've put together looks really cool.  It'll be a grand finale.

Thanks to all the folks who contributed stories to our Facebook group.  They are the backbone of the event.
