I am very psyched that one of my plays will be included in The Little Festival of the Unexpected at Portland Stage Company in Maine. The actual schedule should be posted soon. If anyone's near Portland, please come and say, "Hello." Plus -- I am totally planning an excursion to LL Bean while there. --kato
Selections for the 2010 LITTLE FESTIVAL OF THE UNEXPECTED, May 11-15, have been announced. This year's festival will feature three new works: The Center of Gravity by Gregory Hischak, Ariadne on the Island by Kato McNickle, and Tigers Be Still by Kim Rosenstock. Since its debut in 1989, the Little Festival of the Unexpected has established a tradition of nurturing artists, invigorating audiences, and exploring new voices, new visions and new forms of theatre. The festival furnishes a supportive environment for playwrights to develop their work, as well as a unique opportunity for audiences to catch a firsthand look at the creative process that brings scripts to the stage. Little Festival readings are performed by a company of professional actors, and are followed by an open discussion between the audience, director and playwright.
