Got some good news today.  My play ALWAYS A CHANCE OF RAIN: A NOAH RIFF has won the National Playwriting Competition for Children's Theatre from University of Central Missouri. It includes a production this fall and $1,000. It's a play that I wrote when I was working with Paula Vogel a few years ago at one of her famous playwright boot-camps.

Way to go go, Kato. You are on a roll. And, call me mercenary, but I love to read about people who actually get paid for their work. Congrats!

One of the things that is super cool about this play -- is where it came from.  I was working wit Paula Vogel at a playwrights bootcamp with 6 other p-wrights and this was a weekend "bake-off" play.  Each weekend we wrote a play - in 48 hours.  Once you start typing the clock starts ticking... 48 hours later - you stop.

This play is essentially the same from the 48 experiment.  Sure - I corrected some typos - and a few things got changed -- but essentially the play i what I wrote that weekend with Paula V.

What a gift!

Cool! I guess one of the lessons is not to overthink a piece. And to keep writing...
