One of the interesting things about this play is that it wasn't getting in anywhere and then I decided to change the title from

WHETHER: a Noah Riff
to
CHANCE OF RAIN: A Noah Riff

and the very next place I sent it (U of CM) is now doing it.

Coincidence?  Perhaps...

But titles do matter.

The other interesting thing a bout this play is that it went from conception to expression in about 3 days -- with one day of thinking about it and then 48 hours of writing.  This is a "Bake-Off" play -- which is one of Paula Vogel's techniques for writing.  A group of writers gets the same criteria for subject and inclusion in their works and then once they start writing the clock starts -- and 48 hours later you have to stop writing.  Also -- no editing.  Once it's down it's in the draft and you can't change it until after the play is read.  We then read the plays together.

And that's where this play came from.

It's a beautiful thing! Congratulations.

"But titles do matter." How true, how true.

Think of "The Shawshank Redemption."

best,

Come to think of it, "Chance of Rain in Missouri" is a great title just on its own.

Well -- the play takes place in Pawcatuck, CT on the Rhode Island line... and it doesn't have quite the same ring...

I have posted some pix on a Facebook page - and I think it's viewable by anyone

The production really looks cool.  They did a great job with design and the pictures are well done.

This looks terrific, kato.

Congratulations.

Did they video it for you?

What is the running time?

Hope it gets you many more productions of it.

best,

I don't think they videoed it -- but I love the pictures.  It runs about an hour - a play for family audiences.
