STRANGERS

Of kind words unspoken to unhearing ear,

And love yet unbidden, imprisoned by fear;

A glance quickly hidden, a smile yet unknown,

To pass by forgotten, forsaken...alone.

Thanks, in media res.

It's one of my own favorites of what I've written, and I almost lost it.  I had given a copy to my sister on an index card and somehow misplaced the original, never thinking about it.  Years later she found the card stuck in her mementos and brought it to my attention.  Glad it wasn't forgotten, forsaken...
