We leave

one step

at a time:

the table after

eating, a job,

a belief,

a first love

the heart

of a home

the ordinary,

the in and out

of our breath

our hands

against cold

glass

How is it when

we pretend,

it’s easier?

timmy,

Thanks for tearing my heart out. Love it. Sooooo true. Thank you.

Your poem is exactly why I tell young actors/writers when I am asked to talk to them: "Good Theatre makes life seem easy."

An aside:

Shot a 38 today for nine holes. Two birdies. One double bogie.

Chilly day, but sunshine made the dappled sunshine and shadows on the ninth hole a picture-perfect day for golf in Chicago!

Hoping to get a few more rounds in before the brrrrrrr! of winter. Literally. Getting a new furnace put in in the next two weeks.

best,

"Good Theatre makes life seem easy."

For some, I suppose that's true. The Paterno situation? Maybe not. Theatre can't come close to the drama for these folks.

Aside #1: Fall golf is on a nice day is wonderful. I haven't played much since Labor Day weekend, but I think about it on days like today (56 degrees this PM).

Aside #2: Scheduled for surgery in December. My good friends at Mayo Clinic tell me it's time before I have a stroke. I may be down for a month or so. I trust them.

Aside #3: Glad you liked the poem. We leave anywhere...one step at a time. It's that first one that's a killer sometimes.
