Mana:
We weren’t born
there, we won’t
die there, but we
all search for
that one moment
when we all seek
perfection, and this
is what makes every
one of us imperfect

It’s funny how we strive
for a moment like this,
almost like a man lovesick
for history, palms white,
fear clamped in a smile,
ears straining to the din
of sky, naked soul
massaged by the sun

And when we look, when
we really look at ourselves,
we drift down to the water,
talk to ourselves quietly,
only to look away in shame
