A Nice Cup of Tea

Swirling confluence

Tinkling spoon

Rich brown milky sweetness

Warmth to the hand

Pleasure to the pallet

Satisfaction to the soul

I hate it.

Don't mind coffee, though.

;)

Coming from generations of English Americans, I began drinking tea in my baby bottle.   Now it satisfies my soul as comfort food satisfies, and with the quick flashes of a long-ago-youth.

Nice.

What did you write today?

edd,

I think you meant "palate."

"Pallet" is for a painter or is used in warehouses, or is a cheap bed.

Wait a second....maybe it still works!

Best,

in media res,

I think you meant to respond to Ed and not to Edd.

There seems some sort of symmetry to this. :>)

What did you write to today?

edd.

The Bears had lost.

I was also sick as all get out (not from the Bears - they deserved to lose that game) and was heading off to bed.

So...

John Watts,

Read what I previously posted to edd regardeing the use of "pallet!"

Tea! My favourite drink... There used to be an advert for tea on TV in the UK that had a little song that has stayed in my head for over forty years:

I like a nice cup of tea in the morning
Just to start my day you see
And at half past eleven
Well, my idea of heaven
Is a nice cup of tea

I like a nice cup of tea with my dinner
And a nice cup of tea with my tea*
And about this time of night
What goes down a treat - you're right!
It's a nice cup of tea.....

*'tea' in this use of the word is an Engllish afternoon ritual break with cucumber sandwiches and fairy cake....!

Regards TKL
