This is already a rewrite from last night - works better when you sleep and come back to a poem!

I KNOW HIM
By John Watts

I know him

I know him from somewhere

Years ago

Way back when

When I was younger

Better looking

Smarter

When I was smiling

Laughing

Living

That perfume

I know the fragrance

From years ago

Way back when

She had long hair

Or was it short?

A fire of unclear longing

Kindled by her scent

Her presence

Her being

This place

I know this place

I’ve never been here

But I know this place

It was years ago

Way back when

I walked

This path

This corridor

This conduit of thoughts

Now the path is muddled

The mind overflowing

A reflection

Jumbled

Untidy

I know him

I know him from somewhere

It was years ago

Way back when
