Does anyone use an app on an iProduct for tracking play submissions that you LOVE? I use one called StoryTracker that I have modified for playwriting, and while I like it, it's not a perfect fit for what I need.
What features would be beneficial in an app specifically designed for playwrights to use? What would you expect it to do? How much would you be willing to pay for a decent submission tracking app specific to playwrights?
What productivity-related apps do you love to use? What features are your favorites?
Do you use your tablet for writing? I use mine for note taking. I like that my phone and my tablet are connected, and I can make note of things anywhere, any time from either device.
I have only written a few scenes on my iPad and then send them to my computer to insert into the primary text document.
I do use the iPad for reading new work. In fact, I prefer it to paper because I can scroll continuously thru a text. It gives a great sense of a play flowing. Plus, it's very simple for the theater to deliver the scripts. It's a whole new method of literary management.
I include in the e-mail, "While I also have sent this e-mail to myself, confirmation of receipt is always appreciated."
Many have an auto-repoonse of receipt. Of those that are not auto-response, about 80% send a brief e-mail of receipt. Some you don't hear diddly.
I then (usually) put on my computer calendar the date they will have made their finalist decisions, and then when they make their final decisions.
What I do not understand is when you make FINALIST, some theaters never notify you that your script was not selected. Of course you can figure it out by the date and then going to their website, but a courteous notification is the least one would expect.
I have a Galaxy Note smart phone. People laugh at how big it is but it serves as a tablet as well as a phone. Take a lot of notes on it but don't use it for writing. What I like about it is that it fits in my shirt pocket and I don't have to carry it.
