Anyone familiar with these guys?  Or have a play through them?  Just curious if anyone has any experience with what they're like and how they are to work with (and that all-important question: do they succeed in getting productions?).

I love their website; they look like they have some great ideas.  I would love to know how people have done with them.  Bradley, do you still frequent this place?  I see you have a show with them.  How has it done?

I have nothing but positive things to say about Big Dog.  The editor came from Eldridge, so she has a lot of experience (particularly with the high school market).  She provides a professional looking product and, for being so new, a strong circulation of catalogues.  Plus, I've watched the catalogue grow over the past few months to include some really great plays by many great authors.

Personally, I have two one acts and a collection of 10 minute plays with them.  And while I have not seen as many productions as I have with, say, Eldridge, they have a very strong business plan for the future.  I am confident that number will continue to go up as more people are aware of the company.  If it's any indication, I would not hesitate to submit to them again.

FYI: If you've got something a little more racy, try Big Dog's imprint for the adult market, Norman Maine Publishing.

Well, I googled them and at least they've got a fun website and don't seem to be taking themselves too seriously.  If I were searching for a fun play (and if I were searching for any kind of play it would first of all have to be FUN), I would definitely order one from them.

Thanks for the replies.  It's helpful with new, small companies like this to hear how others have done; it's hard to know otherwise if they have their act together or not.  Sounds like they do!
