One of the characters in my play is classic movie buff and she likes to quote classic  movies and talk about film stars. Question: is it okay to do this or is there some kind of copyright issue that I need to consider?

In the play "Play it Again, Sam," Humphrey Bogart's ghost was a character in the play. Did Woody Allen have to get permission to use Bogart's likeness? In my play, I'm not portraying a star, just mentioning them, or quotes from their films, in dialog.
