The answer is yes! Stellar article.

Prose poems are a good way get one's feet wet to experiment with surrealism, absurdism, lyricism, or anything remotely literary in a short form. But they don't have the same staying power as even only-slightly-more-structured poems do, like the article suggests. I've written a few but I could never recite them like I could my shorter structured poems. I think when there's an identifiable rhythm, people connect more. I'm reading Dante's Comedy and it flows so insanely well it's not even funny.
