Hi all.
I got an invite to this site this evening from another former member of the TPTT forum and having had a quick look around Im very glad I took up the invitation.
Up till now Ive mainly written poetry and short stories but I also have a couple of unfinished plays that I keep coming back to. I think writing a successful play would actually be my greatest wish in writing but it is bloody hard isnt it!
Hopefully I'll get some inspiration and support here to get me on my way.
One thing is for sure - in my experience groups of writers are invariably warm friendly, supportive and great fun.
(of course they are also mad as a skip load of monkey's and neurotic as hell too - but you cant have everything.)
Going for another scout around now.
David.

Welcome, David.
As you will find from looking around our great forum, there are lots of things to do for fun and to help develop your writing skills. So enjoy!
BTW, this line gave me a start: "One thing is for sure - in my experience groups of writers are invariably warm friendly, supportive and great fun." Wow. We certainly have traveled in different circles of forum. However, that statement is certainly applicable to this forum.
Again, Welcome.

Thanks edd,
Wow. We certainly have traveled in different circles of forum
I leave myself a get-out clause: the ones that cause the trouble on other forums (fora?) - the unpleasant ones - are seldom, if ever, writers!

Welcome Zabriel. I'm new here myself, and I can tell you the people here are both welcoming and incredibly helpful. I've already gotten some solid ideas for cleaning up my "work in progress." Don't be afraid to post question, people here are glad to help.

Uh huh.
You seem like a guy who likes a good kick in the pants. I'd like to challenge you to write a play from one of your poems...maybe just a three or four minutes piece...something.
I'll be waiting.

Paddy - thats fighting talk where I come from.
(Of course I live in Northern Ireland so just about anything is fighting talk here)
I accept you challenge and will attempt to rise to it. A short play you say? two or three minutes? .... I shall return sometime next june with a first draft.
