Hey everyone,

Just out of curiousity, who or what do you guys think Godot is in Samuel Beckett's "Waiting for Godot"? I've been thinking about the work and I'm on the God side I think, despite the fact that I'm an atheist. I also thought he might represent Death a couple times. Any thoughts? Or maybe you're one of those people who refuses to define Godot, just as the author might have intended. I can't help but ponder.

OR Godot may be a metaphor for wasting time waiting for a life instead of getting off the bench and making a life. "I can't go on. I will go on." (One of my favorite quotes of all time) We can do it. We too often talk ourselves out of doing it - whatever your "it" is.

Anyway, old man thoughts from chilly Denver
.

P.S. I also think that there is no one answer. It's more something to ponder than to answer.
