At Mayo Clinic
on bright, white tiles
next to the piano,
cancer patients meeting
family after treatment

There are hugs,
handshakes,
occasional tears
even laughter
from some
who handle
things that way

Also, the odd person,
on his own, next to
the sculpture
of Hippocrates,
who stands above us
all like some kind
of fucking deity
