If you're on Twitter there are bunches of ways to keep your fingers in the world of playwrights.

The NY Neo-Futurists post daily "Twitter-Play" challenges. Follow them at NY Neo-Futurists ‏@nyneofuturists

Once you start following one, more suggestions pop-up.

You can post announces about your new play production, and follow the work and opinions of others at #newplay

And theater trends in general at #2amt

That should get you started.

If you're on Twitter, who/what are you following?

Does anybody here care about this stuff? Many people in the theater-world are connecting thru this medium. Maybe the people connecting this way are not connected here? Hmmm. It seems I'm mostly talking to myself.

Paddy, you're into short plays (or your theater is) -- have you seen the Neo-Futurists? 30 plays in 60 minutes is their thing. The company members develop the plays, and they have them on a menu and the audience votes which 30 they will see that night from the menu as the show progresses.

The collection was published last year - Too Much Light Makes the Baby Go Blind.

It's a very cool collection, and they are great group to be in the room with. Some of the plays are little jokes, while others are insanely moving. I saw them about 8 years ago, and some of the darker and deep pieces still stick with me.

Great run-down and primer for entering the Twitter-verse as a playwright --

Seven Steps to Success for Playwrights on Twitter
by GWYDION SUILEBHAN, playwright

So much has been written about the intersection between Twitter and theater from a big picture perspective (see Theater, Twitter, and Revolution at HowlRound for my own personal take), but I’ve yet to find a simple list of tips to help playwrights who are new to Twitter get accommodated to the medium. So I thought… why don’t I make one?

Read all seven --

I confess I'm a "sports" twitter follower only. It's great for my fantasy teams.
