I went to the "Dialog isn't Talking" session at the Dramatists Guild conference, and it was insanely helpful. The panelists talked about specific problems they see in scripts, and gave concrete suggestions for how to tell if your play has those problems, and how to fix the problems.

For those of you who didn't get to the conference, or didn't get to this session, I've put some notes up on my blog.

I just want to say that it I really dig your enthusiasm about discovery and sharing these topics. It was really cool to meet you in August at the DGA conference. You're a fun and focussed person to have in the room.

HI, Kato --

Thank you! I enjoyed meeting you, too. And I've got the exercises from the "Dream Logic" booklet ready to post on my blog. I'll credit it as you asked.

If someone has told you a few hints at where you are going wrong - e.g. These characters sound like mirror images, that is similar to them... does anyone have advice on a tool to use to break things up a bit. I had a Table read and one person fed this back about his 2 multi cast roles

It says write a detailed bio

I am wondering if that would work because one of the characters is a fantasy character and one is based on a real life archetype of a mad man

I don't know whether or not it's my own archetypes and voice sounding the same... my own male prejudices and views
