Mana:
There is a certain gleam
of green in an old bottle;
there is a stir of red
in an unlit stove;
there is a hint of white
beneath a moonless night.
Woman with tears sleeps
in doorways. Woman
with chapped lips.
Woman of scarlet lipstick.
Woman of raped dreams.
She offers oral sex for a bottle
of beer and fifty cents
for the jukebox. Woman
of dance. She once told me
she wanted to dance,
dance into her grave
with music coming
from every hole in her body.
