Hello forum. I have no experience in writing plays, but I think I might be developing a story to tell so I have registered to try to learn as much as possible about the craft.

I am teaching abroad, even beyond the reach of Amazon, so don't have much access to good resources on the topic. A forum like this is therefore much appreciated. Thank you!

Hey privateer!

Welcome. You'll find a lot of good bits of wisdom on this forum. And some really awesome writers.

There are a number of online resources to get you started. One is Playwriting 101 (http://www.playwriting101.com/). Another is Richard Toscan's website The Playwriting Seminars. The first version is gone, but you might want to consider purchasing the newer e-book (which can be read on your computer if you download Amazon's free e-reader).

Cheers to you, and happy writing!

Thank you for the reply, RTurco, and for those very helpful leads. You wouldn't also know of any good podcasts available, I suppose? I've hunted iTunes, but come up with nothing so far.

Cheers!

I'm not too familiar with podcasts, so I can't really say. Sorry.
