Hi I am Irish 58. I have always had a good sense of Irish humour. As children we would play jokes on each other which were well thought out and planned. I grew up with Rising damp and that to me was true comedy. I would like to create that style of comedy. I have written some and shown them to some actors in medium sized theatre companies like riding lights. They were very well liked. I have recently been informed about the BBC writer’s room. I feel I could get something through.
Hi, Irish Desmond. Not sure how much help we could be to you - via sitcom, but that being said, there are a lot of posts here about developing characters and other aspects of writing that work for styles of writing other than stage.
