I wanted to avoid an AA-esque sounding introduction, but “Hi, my name’s Andrew and I’m a playwright” does seem to be the most practical way of putting it.
I’ve dropped by this forum from time to time over the years, but finally decided to jump into the fray and become an active participant, get to know some of you more, learn some things (a process that has no end), and hopefully bring something to the table, too.
I’ve been writing plays for almost twenty years and have had my share of highs and lows, just like every other playwright. I’ve adapted some of my works into novellas and short stories with some degree of success, but my heart has and always will be inextricably bound to theatre.
I’ve also just published a collection of comedic 10-minute plays (“The Meta Plays”) through Stageplays’ own Cyberpress, which I’ll discuss in more detail in the appropriate section of the forum. But if you’re interested in reading a sample of my work, you can read an extract from the first play in the collection, “The Craft”, using the following link:
And I'm glad you liked the website - a lot of blood, sweat and cursing went into it :)
Thanks very much for adding the Kindle link to The Meta Plays Cyberpress page - that's great. And in fact I am planning on adding it to the iBookstore in the very near future, so I'll let you know when I do. Much appreciated.
