After our highly successful debut production (http://www.nunstheshow.com), Perform and Give are on the lookout for another play to produce in 2017 in London.

Perform and Give produce theatre to provide opportunities in theatre production and to raise money for charity. Each member works on a voluntary basis and all profit is donated to charity.

The project has been described as exciting by ITV responsibility and has been a stepping stone for many of our volunteers into the world of professional theatre production.

We welcome submissions of all kinds. If you have the talent, we'll flaunt it!

May I assume that the playwright is expected to give their work without royalty, so that your group can raise money?

This is correct. Every member works on a voluntary basis and not a single goes to the Perform and Give team. All profit from our last production was donated to Smart Works, helping to empower vulnerable women.

Well, my advice to every playwright is, and has always been, DO NOT GIVE YOUR WORK AWAY! However well-intentioned you are, this is beneath any decent playwright. Actually, I am truly sorry and apologize if I am sounding crude or common, but we strive to be professionals in this forum. Professionals deserve more respect. I do wish you well, Jamie. I only ask you to respect our months and years of tears, anxiety, learning and pain it takes for what you want us to give away free. I ask you to understand this. Best, Edward Crosby Wells

Hi Ed, Many thanks for your response. Just to clarify that Perform and Give produce theatre to raise money for charity. Our last project was supported by many professionals currently working throughout the West End and Hollywood.

These participants have taken pride in their role and have not seen it as beneath them to support some of the most vulnerable people in society. It stems from a love of theatre and desire and passion to help others.

Best wishes,

Jamie

What a lovely thought, Sir or Madam, "a love of theatre and desire and passion to help others." I love theatre by giving my life to it. And, re: helping others, etc., is too condescending for response.

Internationally acclaimed playwright EDWARD CROSBY WELLS has had his plays produced from coast to coast in the U.S. and in Canada, Scotland, England, Ireland, Spain, South Africa, Poland, New Zealand and Australia. He is the winner of several international playwriting awards including the Spotlight On Best Play Award for Excellence in Off-Off Broadway Theatre for three consecutive years. His work is published by Greyridge Press, Cyberpress, StagePlays, Meriwether Publishing Ltd., Production Scripts, Smith & Kraus, Inc., and Samuel French, Inc. Edward recently finished his first novel,

If this is not giving, not driven by passion or desire to give to others, I've made a fool of my mediocre self all my life.

That's wonderful Edward. Great stuff. And just to clarify again the words are pure. No ambiguity contrived at being condescending. It's great to see a community of passionate theatre makers helping others and supporting good causes!

Oh and if you get the chance, visit our website at the end of the month. You'll be able to see and probably be familiar with the international community supporting our work.

Best wishes,

Jamie

What's the deadline for submissions, Jamie?

BTW - the link http://www.nunstheshow.com/  doesn't work as you've included some spurious characters in the URL (the link included here will work).
