|Birmingham Repertory Theatre are proud to be Year 4 partners on Graeae's flagship new writing programme, Write to Play.
Write to Play is a year-long writing programme for emerging Deaf/disabled writers based in different parts of the UK, with year 4 (2016-17) taking place in The Midlands. Each year, 5 writers, through a series of workshops and placements, work towards their first full-length play, which is performed in a public sharing at the end of the year. The other partners for Year 4 are Leciester Curve and the Belgrade Theatre Coventry.
"We are delighted to partner with Graeae, Belgrade Theatre and Curve on this most exciting and ambitious of projects. To be a part of this programme on a region wide scale, to discover, nurture and support a new generation of D/deaf and disabled writers and to diversify the pool of fantastic storytellers in the Midlands is a great honour. I really look forward to seeing how these writers, ideas and plays develop and grow with the support and focus that the mentoring, workshops and sharings of work that this scheme offers."
