It's done. Book is done. Songs are written and (poorly) scored and performed by me. I suspect this could be another BOM type hit, but then, I am slightly biased. I need help with what's next - from organizing a reading to directing to scheduling performances. My first choice would be to work with a composer who knows the who/what/why of all of the rest of this. It also would be very cool if the play interested my collaborator in a personal way; it's a history of the Twelve Step program(s) from a comedic perspective. It's the Un-Bill Wilson story, with dancing.
Knowing more than several very succcessful dear friends who are Friends of Bill - not myself an AA member - it sounds promising. But promising means a helluva lot of hard work, discouragement, recovery and plodding on. Just like AA! Soooo....get going!
From what you say...you have a helluva lot of DEVOTED and COMMITTED HARD WORK ahead.
If you are in a town where there is theatre activity...GET INVOLVED...you CAN most likely find some people who can help. And AA is everywhere. (Not that that AA membership is qualifications to write your story.) As you may know well by now however FROM EXPERIENCE... keep the control of ALL the money...or get a good attorney...AND GET EVERYTHING IN WRITING.
And only from experience from friends in AA...again...get everything in writing.
You may think you have a friend...until you don't.
Thanks - I am right in Los Angeles (well, 20 min north) so seems like you are saying to get busy making connections in theater. I have all the play done and have been told by one critique that the writing is "very good". Lots of work, ahead, yes. Thanks for your response!
