Day twelve
in self-isolation

The minister
says no lockdown

The washing is hanging
on the line
leeks mornay in the pot
dinner at nine

The dogs have gone for their walk
down through the forest

People have gathered
by the lake edge
keeping their distance
as the minister insisted

Out in the garden the
daffodils are blooming
the easter eggs have gone
won't be long before
summer comes along

Twelve days of isolation
twelve months of the year
twelve days of Christmas
twelve-year-old bottle of
whiskey waiting
