GUESS WHO'S COMING TO SEDER
Verve and moxy alone won't get a husband for unattractive thrity-seven-year-old Hilly Buchman. It's not as though the offers are pouring in - her clock is ticking and she hasn't been on a date for years. "Made" gangster Paul Veronea is her last hope to have the family she has so desired. Her problem - how is she going to sell Paul, a good Catholic Italian, to her Orthordox Jewish parents when they invite him to Passover Seder? Heaven help them all.
WHERE THERE'S NO WILL
An old woman dies without signing a will. Her avaricious daughter and son-in-law, Hal, expect to inherit everything. Through a chain of silly misunderstandings, it appears that Mom was simply in a coma, and now they have a dilemma: do they have to kill her off before she can call her attorney and bequeath her estate to someone else?
Poor Hilly Buchman. Thirty-seven, unattractive, and alone. Her clock is ticking and she hasn't been on a date for years. Into her life comes "made" gangster Paul Veronea--her last hope to have the family she's always wanted. But how is she going to sell Paul, a Catholic Italian, to her Orthordox Jewish parents when they invite him to Passover Seder? Oy vey!
When an old woman dies without signing a will, her greedy daughter and son-in-law expect to inherit everything. But when it turns out that Mom was simply in a coma, they face a dilemma: if they want the money, they're going to have to kill her off before she can bequeath her fortune to someone else!
Guess Who's coming to Seder. Oh my goodness. That is so rich. The comedy potential for that alone makes me want to see it. Don't get discouraged someone somewhere will have some brains and insist on producing this. I love the title. I would see it just for the title alone
yes shanahan. i think yours are a little better. maybe a bit clearer. maybe mentioning that "will" is a fast-paced farce may help as well.
and frank. the title isn't so original as i've since found out. if you google the title, you get tons of hits. seems like a lot of uninvited guests are turning out for seder.

It's what I do professionally. :-)
And yes, put "fast-paced farce" in there. This may sound condescending, but if community groups--the majority of Bakers' clientele--are looking for plays, that's the kind of callout that will catch their eye. Sad but true...
