Mana:
the red shirt of winter dawn this morning,
the interesting clouds, the ones that didn’t
look like childhood animals or former girl friends

the clouds were just there, like guilt
is sometimes when something pleases
you and you know it probably shouldn’t

simultaneously surrounded by the sun,
the moon, and the stars was like listening
to God gossiping about unblemished friends

we always look for reasons when none exist
we often look for answers while clouds drift
wearing our history on their muted sleeves
