Confessions of a Lazy Poet
I Could write about those seagulls
If I were so inclined
But my head has gone off wandering
And left my pen behind

lostsocks, (or lostpens!)

For want of a pen,
A word was lost.

Know the feeling well.

Those seagulls are not poem worthy
I hasten to profess
Let your mind alone to wander
Ah, but I digress

The pen it is so lonely
Abondoned on the page
Perhaps a play would be in order
Some thing for the stage?

I thought about those seagulls

I’m sure they were the same

Such graceful birds

Deserved the words

To fail seemed such a shame

I sought out all those seagulls

The cliffs I had to climb

Til by the coast

I’ll proudly boast

I stayed for quite some time

I fought for all those seagulls

To watch them soar and fly

It seemed so right

And then that night

One shat right in my eye.

Distraught about the seagulls

I know I’ll never learn

Despite my care

I’ve shitty hair

They did me - a bad Tern

I love it when this sites goes a bit daft!

The poet Jan Maloney wrote a very funny poem called something like 'A Recipe for Seagull Stew' (she lives at the seaside and hates the buggers!). I will try and find a copy...

Poet,

Yeats' "The Wild Swans At Coole" will never be looked upon the same by me!

how very clever poet
I loved that evil twist
That tern had me laughing
This I couldnt resist

About that  shitty hair
And that shot  landing in your eye
Seagulls have no manners
Theres no rhyme or reason why

As for the lazy poet
I am glad we made you smile
Just these four lines you posted
May keep us going for quite a while

*grin*
