Hi Folks -- I don't know anything about this person or the theatre he may be working with. So proceed accordingly.

One-Act Plays wanted

Last year I had the pleasure of dircting a one-act play in Ojai called The American Century. I am now gearing up to direct another one-act play later this year. If you have an unpublished one-act play with 2, 3 or 4 characters, that is not more than 25 pages in length, please submit it to me for review. If your play is selected, you will be paid a reasonable amount for the rights to produce your play. Play should be submitted to Howard@Roadrunner.com with the subject line to read SUBMISSION. Please note that your play should be written for the stage and not a screen play that "can" be converted to stage.

If one is seeking scripts, should not one at least let us know who the heck he/she/theatre is asking?

Anyone can have an e-mail address. Anyone can have a website.

I look for verifiable street addresses associated with that e-mail address or website not only in script submissions but in any business I deal with; whether it be plumbing, finance, roofing, painters, carpet cleaners. Geography is usually a hint at an attempt at some kind planting of foundation and association with the community I want to know where I can find them if something goes wrong. There is also a cyber community, which is valid, but merely 800 numbers and www's are never as traceable for follow up.

Hey, Citi Bank just had an 11 Billion dollar deficit last quarter. So, geography doesn't always work.

Again, as Mary S also warns, Caveat Emptor - Let the Buyer Beware.

best,
