I've wanted to be a playwright since I read Long Days Journey Into Night in early high school. I was inspired by the power of pure action. It was simple and complex all at the same time, ultimately meaning that to me it was everything. My goals are to eventually get my MFA in dramatic writing and bring to the surface a new type of drama and to teach it. I desperately love screen writing, however, something about uninterrupted reaction rather than a cut shot, or over the shoulder POV ignites a reality I appreciate more; no secrets.
Personally, I want to bring back a simple theater. Pure conversation. Powerful dialogue. Something that makes the audience really feel like they want to listen, not desperately try to understand.
I could go on forever, but if you see me post a play I'm working on it would be great if you shoot me a comment.
