my adaptation of "a tale of two cities" for middle-school performers opens saturday night. due to a spate of last minute actor problems (monsieur defarge/jerry cruncher was taken to the hospital tonight), i will be playing jerry cruncher & m. defarge, the director is playing the french jailer & my friend joe found out tonight that he is playing the lawyer mr. stryver with no rehearsal to speak of!

st. genesius, pray for us!

spiny,

And St.Jude and St. Anthony!

I agree with edd. I am in suspense waiting to her about it.

Just know, many of us, myself included, have been in your shoes and survived.

best,

P.S. My favorite line: "& my friend joe found out tonight that he is playing the lawyer mr. stryver."

I'd have liked to have seen Joe's face when he found out.

Since Spiny and IMR are dropping Saint names I'll drop my Patron's name - St. John (Don Bosco, founder of the Salesian Order).  I'm one of the bad examples of those brought up in Salesian schools.

Oh, and break a leg again, Spiny.

UNFAILING PRAYER TO ST. ANTHONY

O holy St. Anthony, gentlest of Saints,
your lOVE FOR GOD and Charity for HIS
creature, made you worthy, while on
earth, to possess miraculous powers.
Miracles waited on your word, which
you were ever ready to speak for those
in trouble or anxiety. Encouraged by this
thought, I implore of you to obtain for

(request). Joe, spiny and all the cast of spiny's play
have a flawless but exciting performance they will talk
fondly about for years to come (especially given the circumstances)
and this will be a bond of fond memory for ever and ever
for all involved.

The answer to my prayer may require a miracle,
even so, your are the Saint of Miracles. O gentle
and loving St. Anthony, whose heart was ever full
of human sympathy, whisper my petition into the
ears of the Sweet Infant JESUS, who loved to be
folded in your arms; and the gratitude of my heart
will ever be yours. Amen.

Spiny, I pass this on to you as one of my still Roman Catholic friends - I dropped out a long time ago - just gave me three days ago a Holy Card with this prayer on it, as she lit a candle for me at St. Peter's Church in the Loop "for my special intention" to St. Anthony.

edd,

I always loved Don Bosco. Patron Saint of boys. And he was an entertainer. http://saints.sqpn.com/saint-john-bosco/
