I can see the main page, but after that I get the "under construction message"...I'm sure they'll fix it :)

Spiny,

You may need to download Adobe Reader (I think it is #8 or 9).  If you have a Mac, which I seem to remember you having, you may need to download the version for Mac.  Otherwise, I have no other useful idea--which is pretty much typical of my general state of being.

WIRELESS!  How great is that.  You are envied, Spiny.  There are some coffee shops in the area I could go to for WiFi, but I never go to coffee shops.  <sigh>

I just bought, about two weeks ago, my very first laptop, a Toshiba, 17" screen, full key board and numbers pad,  3G RAM and 250 GB Hard drive.  I love it, except for the fact I have to deal with MS Windows Vista which I hate.  By the time they added on all the little extras for this, including needing to buy the MS Office suite and some photo software, I could have, for a few hundred more, bought a Mac.  I'm already kicking myself.

Enjoy you new computer.

yes, i've finally left pc world & joined the mac nation. my first mac, my first laptop, wireless access! it's all a bit much...

add to that that i finally got a job! so writing time has been drastically reduced.

of course, the gods have not blessed me completely - i got a script back with a lovely scrawl from the artistic director saying that it "just didn't grab him."

We're deserting microsoft in droves!

I'm just slowly adjusting to my new iMac.
It is beautiful.

What tipped the balance for me-
was an irritating problem on my pc-
after six weeks of telephone conversations and e-mails
microsoft had failed even to identify the problem
let alone suggest a remedy.

Needless to say- I was charged £40 plus tax for
the non-service.

What really p***** me  off guys, is that I bought a Toshiba L350 with 17" screen as temp replacement for the pc  a few months ago and find, like Edd, that Vista isn't as good as the XP pro on the old pc. I resent having wasted my money.
And prices in the UK compared to those in the US are a rip off.

I'm happy I got that off my chest.

regards

Tim L G
