Gmail: Anyone else have this Script Formatting problem?

Usually I send scripts PDF.
Sometimes I send a submission in docx Word, especially if that is what is requested.
Whichever way I do, I also send a cc to myself as a receipt. Also I like to make sure the document arrived correct in its formatting.
But too often sometimes, when I check the cc'd docx Word document in in my mailbox, itcomes to me and the formatting is out of whack. It can drive me nuts.
But when I send it in a PDF document, it turns out okay in my mailbox.
Should I stop trusting sending Word docs over gmail?
Or should I have my computer guy come over and check on it, and slap me around for how stupid I am?

I haven't trusted to send Word or Pages in years--always PDF. With PDF the folks on the other side can't change anything. My experience with Theatres has, unfortunately, taught me that.

are you typing Word on an Apple? If so, when you go to save, save as Doc, not Docx (or Docxx, even). For some reason (and please don't ask me to explain it) Apple's version of Word does weird things with the x on the end of the saved document.
It has made a difference when I send stuff in an email. PDF is your best bet, but when folks ask for a Word Doc. make sure that's what it is, and not an "x" on the end. Just delete the x before saving.
Golfed 9 holes last Saturday. 50 degrees but still doable :)

Thanks, edd and timmy.
Yeah, one day out of nowhere that X started appearing after doc. Where the hell did that come from?
PDF only from now on!!!!
