No fun anymore
going shopping
till I'm dropping

In and out
that's my new motto

The Minister said
the shops can open
essential now
Christmas is upon us

Wear a mask and keep your distance
is his Motto

Today I needed to buy net curtains
ran up to the shop and gave the measurements
out again in a flash
the shops were crowded
with Christmas shoppers

The phone was ringing
when I got indoors
it was the husband
calling long distance
he had to hang up twice
he couldn't hear me
a bad line he said
but I could hear him

Later in the afternoon
I put the kettle on
sat down with my tea
only to realise
I forgot to take
my mask off
after the shopping
is it any wonder
the hubby couldn't hear me?
